Now Hiring: Worship Leader

New Promise Church Worship Leader:  We are currently searching for a new Worship Leader to inspire our worship team and congregation, to engage expressively in the worship our Lord Jesus Christ. The position is part time.

NPC is a family friendly 11-year-old church, built on 17 acres in a Northeast suburb of Cleveland. We are an independent, non-denominational fellowship which is Wesleyan in Doctrine, led by a paid staff of five; Sr. Pastor, Youth Pastor, Activities Director, Secretary, and Tech Director plus an elder board. Our community outreaches consist of special events, including Awana and Upwards Basketball which bring the lifesaving love of Christ to our neighbors as we serve Him as both Lord and Savior.

Requirements:

  • Born-Again Christian, having a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, demonstrating the character and fruit of God’s Holy Spirit in their life.

  • Agrees with and supports NPC’s Constitution, By-Laws, and Doctrines.

  • Sincerely supports and works well with the Senior Pastor, Elders and Staff.

  • Motivated, initiating, creative, with good organizational skills, teachable.

  • Ability to read music is a plus. Have a working knowledge of different instruments, a skillful musician. 

  • Ability to sing lead.

  • Skillful with contemporary worship songs, as well as traditional music. Be able to arrange a pleasant “blended” worship.

  • Able to organize and execute 60–75-minute concerts of worship a couple times a year.

  • Knowledge of sound, lighting, video equipment as well as computer software is a plus.

  • Additional skills and leadership experiences are a plus.

  • Provide links to online video of leading worship (preferably with a band) to NPC.

  • Prior to final contractual agreement, lead a rehearsal and Sunday morning service as part of the interview process, which shall include 1 song which NPC Worship team already knows and 1 new unfamiliar song.

  • Willing to learn and use “ProPresenter” and “Song Select” programs. NPC will provide registrations.

 

Operational Responsibilities

  1. Worship Style and Song Selection; Our goal is to Glorify God corporately:  Select the weekly songs and order based on the Holy Spirit’s leading and complimentary to weekly messages, when able. Songs are to be loaded into the Sunday program by Wednesday, 12:00 noon. A maximum of one new song a week with follow-up in following weeks to allow the congregation to become familiar with. Music shall be in a “singable” key to make it easy for the musicians and congregation to participate.

  2. Musician, Sound and Video Techs Coordination – Organize and coordinate schedule of songs, musicians, and sound/video techs on a weekly basis. Using Planning Center platform remotely and forward YouTube links of songs for the worship team to prepare and practice in advance of the weekly group practice. (tbd, day sent to the team)

  3. Practice Sessions – Conduct weekly practices of about 90 minutes for the Sunday service. Start/close each practice with prayer, being attentive to the personal needs of the team. Develop and enhance God given talents of the worship team and to rehearse the weekly Sunday song schedule provided. Guideline of 4-5 songs of about 17-20 minutes in length for each worship service.

  4. Worship Services – Lead Sunday services. Arrive with enough time to prep auditorium including environmental and lighting check in advance of band members. Coordinate loft techs and musicians with song sets and begin warmups.

  5. Special Worship Services – To collaborate with the Senior Pastor in planning and executing special services, such as Christmas Eve Candlelight, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday services.

  6. Additions – When applicable, willingness to assist in other musical or Pastoral duties as assigned by Church leadership.

  7. Team Selection-Conduct interviews and auditions for the worship team. The worship team is by audition/approval.

 

Compensation:

   We are extending a 1-year call with evaluation after the first 3 months, and 1 year thereafter.

   Weekly work hours, paid sick time, and vacation time tbd.
